Soon your summer cottage will turn into a paradise for relaxation. But now, gardening can be made more enjoyable thanks to our ideas for sewing useful and beautiful summer cottage accessories.

Round cushion with scallops

Soft landing! You were not mistaken - the lower part of this ottoman is an ordinary garden bucket. But the soft pillow with scallops made of colorful fabrics immediately attracts attention.
Diam OK. 30cm

You will need

Flaps of various cotton fabrics; rep ribbon, threads for embroidery; sewing threads; batting or bulk non-woven for stuffing; pins compass; cardboard; pencil; scissors; embroidery needle.

How to do

For the upper side of the pillow, draw a circle on the fabric with a compass on the fabric. 31 cm, cut out. Cut two half circles of the same diameter for the underside of the pillow. To do this, fold the already-cut circle in half, chop like a paper pattern and cut out 2 parts, while along the straight edge add 1.5 cm wide allowances. Fold the circle again in one layer.
To decorate the upper side of the pillow, cut 4 circles. Put the circles on top of each other, aligning the points of the center, and sweep. Stitch individual circles with a zigzag at a distance of 0.8 cm from the cut to the main circle.
For the underside of the pillow, fold the semicircles face-to-face, grind along the straight edge, and leave a hole of approx. 16 cm for inversion and stuffing. Iron allowances.
Fold the top and bottom sides of the pillow face to face and chop. For the scalloped rim, make a template from cardboard. To do this, use the compass to draw a circle for the dia. 5 cm, cut and cut in half. Place this pattern along the outer edge of the pillow and draw the circle outline with a pencil. Stitch the upper and lower sides of the pillow along this contour. Cut allowances close to the line, cut in the places of rounding. To iron edges and to stitch in edge.
Along the line of the circle diam. Sew 24 cm across all layers, thus connecting the upper and lower sides of the pillow again.
Fill the pillow with batting or non-woven, sew a hole in the neck manually. To decorate at the ends of festivals, tie tassels from embroidery threads. To do this, cut pieces of thread approx. 8 cm, using an embroidery needle to half stretch through the fabric and knot.
Sew the rep ribbon (approx. 130 cm long), cut into 4 parts, to the bottom side of the pillow and use it to tie the pillow to the bucket.

Garden apron

You can easily sew such an apron yourself according to our pattern (see photo above). On the pattern are indicated in cm all the necessary sizes for cutting. And how to sew it is described in detail below. Practical pockets from a garden film after "dirty" works it will be enough just to rinse under a stream of water, so that any working materials can be safely put into them.

Length: approx. 72 cm.

You will need

Cotton twill 80 cm long green, 90 cm wide; a patch of cotton fabric with a floral pattern in an angry color; finished oblique trim approx. 3 m light green; light green rep ribbon approx. 3.40 m; raster paper for cutting; sewing threads; pins threads for sweeping; soft pencil; scissors.

How to do

Transfer the pattern of the apron to the scanning paper (see photo above, data are given in cm). Cut the pattern and chop it on the fabric. Cut out without allowances. Cut the breast pocket according to the scheme, give 2 cm of allowances along the upper cut, 1 cm along the remaining cuts. Wrap the upper cut of the pocket twice by 1 cm on the wrong side and sew to the edge. Wrap the remaining sections on the wrong side by 1 cm. Punch a pocket on the apron according to the diagram, sew to the edge, leave the upper edge open.
For the bottom pockets, make separate patterns from garden foil. For large outside pockets, from the garden film, cut out 2 pieces of 25 cm wide and 27 cm high, while at the same time round one corner along the lower edge according to the pattern. For the third large pocket, cut out 1 part 28 cm wide and 25 cm high, for a small pocket, cut out 1 part 22 cm wide and 25 cm high. At the same time, punch a large block on a small pocket (see photo of the model). In the pattern of pockets, allowances for lateral oncoming folds (4 cm each) and 1 cm of allowances for seams are already provided.
Handle pockets as follows. For two external pockets, cut out 2 corresponding details from fabric with a floral pattern, then shorten these details by 3 cm along the upper edge. On parts made of film, wrap the upper edge twice to a width of 1 cm on the inside and stitch. Then, with the wrong side on the face, place the fabric parts on the film parts, with a border of 1 cm wide visible on the upper edge.
Be careful when ironing the apron!
On the non-rounded edges of pockets for oncoming folds, iron allowances for 1 cm seams inside out. Then parallel to this edge at a distance of 4 cm, stitch the nip. At the same time capture both layers. Place this edge with a pinch on the side cut of the pocket and carefully iron the resulting oncoming fold.
On the third large pocket, cut the upper section of the pocket with a strip of fabric. To do this, cut off a strip of size from fabric with a floral pattern. 28 x 5 cm. Sew the strip face to face on the upper cut of the pocket from the film, the width of the seam is 1.5 cm. Unscrew the strip upwards, wrap it on the inside, rounding the upper edge of the pocket, stitch it in the stitching seam.
Decorate the pocket with an applique (see photo of the model) then, for the third large and for the small pocket, perform side oncoming folds, as described above.
Pockets alternately, combining the bottom cut of the pockets and the bottom cut of the apron, stick on the apron, stitch the side edges to the edge. Circle the apron around with a slanting hem, while grabbing the bottom edge of the pockets and the side edges of the pockets.
For ties, cut 2 parts from a rep ribbon 150 cm long, stitch. Stitch also a 40 cm shoulder strap.

Warm gaiters for rubber boots

Firstly, they will decorate ordinary shoes, secondly, they will protect socks from dirt that can get inside the boots, and finally, thirdly, they will warm their calves.

Leg circumference 50 cm, height 16 cm.

You will need

Cotton fabric with a floral pattern 40 cm long, 110 cm wide; bulk non-woven; 2.40 m long matching color cord; sewing threads; elastic tape 2 m long, 1 cm wide; safety pins; scissors.

How to do

For each leggings, cut a strip of fabric size. 52 x34 cm, half width strengthen with volume non-woven. Stitch the strip face to face in the ring. Fold the strip inside out to the inside half the width, tear the slices 1 cm and grind open edges to the edge. On the upper and lower edge of the leggings, sew a drawstring for elastic tape. To do this, first stitch to the edge, then make a second parallel seam at a distance of 2 cm from the first.
Leave a hole in the side seam for threading the elastic tape. Through this hole, pass an elastic tape 44 cm long into the drawstring. Sew the ends of the elastic tape manually, then sew the hole in the seam manually.
For pendants from fabric, cut out 2 circles of dia. 5 cm each, and also a circle from a volume laying diam. 3.5 cm. Fold the circles inside out to the wrong side, combining the center point. Between them enclose a circle of non-woven fabric. Circles, starting from the center, sweep away in the form of rays of stars. Thread the cord into the upper drawstring. To do this, on the transverse seam, spread several stitches at a distance of 1 cm from the outer edge. Then zigzag, grabbing the ends of the cord.
Perform the second suspension in the same way and grab the other end of the cord.
Pull the leggings over your boots.

Panel with pockets

Roses, hyacinths, daisies - all this and more will be planted in your garden! Thanks to the large blocks and hooks, the panel with pockets is easy to hang in any convenient place, and with it you will always have at hand various necessary trifles for work - from twine and small scissors to labels and bags with seeds.

Size approx. 45 x 43 cm

You will need

Cotton fabric of green color 50 cm long, 90 cm wide; flap of cotton fabric; garden foil size 50 x 45 cm; gift ribbon 50 cm long, 3 cm wide red; multi-colored tape 50 cm long, 5 cm wide; gasket Vlieseline H 250; 2 round blocks; 2 S-shaped hooks; color matching sewing threads, pins, soft pencil, scissors.

How to do

For a panel of green cotton fabric, cut out a rectangle of size. 47 x 88 cm. For cotton pockets, fold the fabric in folds, mark the side sections with pins as follows: stick pin 1 at a distance of 12 cm from the bottom edge. Insert pin 2 at a distance of 20 cm from the first pin. Insert pin 3 at a distance of 18 cm from the second pin, then stick pin 4 at a distance of 24 cm from the third pin. Pins in the same way on the opposite side.
For the bottom pockets, put pin 1 on pin 2 and chop the pocket.
For the top pocket, pin No. 3 on pin No. 4 and chop the pocket.
Paste ribbons on the pockets (see photo of the model), then divide the pockets with two longitudinal seams into 3 pockets. At the same time grab the tape.
The back side of the panel is reinforced with non-woven. Cut garden foil to size. 47 x 44 cm. Place the film face to face on the panel and grind both parts, the width of the seam is 1 cm. To unscrew the hole in the seam. Turn the panel out, stretch the corners, sew the hole in the seam manually.
Stitch the panel in a circle at a distance of 1 cm. Punch a block in each upper corner. Hang the panel with hooks.
