Marine style is the best choice for those who like a bright and comfortable interior. Simple fabrics and walls in warm shades of white should remind us of wind-blown sails or a sandy beach. To quickly bring home a light and carefree mood, simply hang light-colored, cream-colored curtains on the windows or put a bright, thick cover on the sofa.
If you love the sea, then you are probably well aware that its color changes depending on the weather and time of day - it can be gray, greenish or even almost black. But on warm summer days it is often bright blue, so blue accents should be clearly placed in the interior in a marine style.In the living room there are enough decorative pillows located on the sofa, in the dining room there are curtains in white and blue stripes, and in the bedroom a blue cover can be a marine accent.
On deck
To create a marine style, natural materials such as wood or rattan are needed first. The interior should resemble the deck of a sailing ship. If the room has a wooden floor, then it is worth “exposing” it by abandoning large carpets. Put a small doormat on the other side, preferably also in a blue and white strip.
Wooden furniture deserves a central place in the room. A beautiful oak table should not be hidden with fabrics - just a cork stand decorated with anchors, seahorses, shells or starfish. Simple wooden chairs can be decorated with white pillows - if you want to clearly adhere to the color scheme of sailors, you can sew blue ribbons on them to fix the pillows on the chair. So they certainly will not be carried away by any storm!
Sea treasures
How to choose jewelry that will resemble the sound of waves and blow the sea breeze? Do not overdo it - in this style, an excess of accessories is not welcome. It is best to use calm ornaments, such as corals or shells, folded on a windowsill or in a round vase. On the wall you can hang a mirror in the form of a porthole, or an old sea chart.
At the most noticeable place in the living room, for example, on a dresser, you can install a model of a sailboat. This will be the most striking decoration in the room, so try to choose a really beautiful ship, carefully decorated with great attention to detail.
The interior in a marine style will help you feel like on a sunny beach at any time of the year.
