Here is the story of the birth of one cute horse. Perhaps it is not the easiest thing to perform, but, undoubtedly, the most relevant. She will certainly bring good luck next year!
An amazing feeling when something in your hands turns into something interesting, beautiful, elegant. Craving for creativity was originally laid down in each of us. The first sculptures sculpted from improvised materials appeared almost simultaneously with cave painting. After real and mythical human figures, horses were a favorite subject to reproduce. Perhaps it is all about the nobility of form.Today, the most popular modeling material is paperclay (“paper clay”). It is a plastic mass with the addition of cellulose, easy to handle, completely non-toxic. Peperkly is perfectly dried and painted.
Master class fromElena Vasilyuk, puppeteer artist, will tell you how to use the paperclay to make the symbol of the coming year - a horse.
YOU WILL NEED:
• foil (dense, 50 cm wide); • paperclay; • acrylic paints (white, black, red, gold); • acrylic contour (gold and black); • brushes; • polisher (or fine sandpaper); • sponge; • satin black ribbon (20–30 cm long, 5–6 cm wide); • scissors; • glue; • palette.
1. We form 3 sausages from foil: from a sheet of 25 x 50 cm and two sheets of 25 x 25 cm. If the foil is too thin, we take 2 pieces of the specified size for each part.
2. We bend sausages in half to make horseshoes. The big one will become the body, the two small ones with the front and rear legs.
3. In the center of a large horseshoe we place a pair of legs, at a short distance - another pair. We tightly clamp the body and bend to get the neck and head.
4. Add foil to the finished skeleton, strengthening the frame. Press tightly. Shaping the head.
5. We glue the horse with glue, starting at the feet. We leave a cut for the mane on the head and neck, and a hole for the tail in the back. We put the figure to dry for 48 hours.
6. Dry the sculpture with a sandpaper.
7. We mix white and black paint, cover the resulting gray horse. On top of the general tone, we outline the spots, draw the hooves, saddle, eyes. After each stage of coloring, we wait 15−20 minutes.
8. We dissolve the satin ribbon to make it look like hair - it will be a tail and a mane. Fill the groove in the head and the hole in the body with super glue and carefully insert the mane and tail.
