Parisian designer Yanaina Mileiro weaves feathers with silk, wool, lace and creates unique materials!

Fluff and feathers ... They are everywhere - they simply fill glass vessels or decorate decorative extravagant bouquets. White, black, multi-colored, twisted like snail shells, long, short. Gold and silver pheasant feathers stand straight and strict like tin soldiers. Delicate feathers with an exquisite speckled feather pattern of guinea fowl gently flutter above the edges of the glasses. The long "beards" of ostrich feathers, as if in zero gravity, smoothly sway in the air.

Yanaita Mileiro perfectly knows all the physical properties of his working material. Even during the teachings in Paris Ecole nationale supeneure de creation industrielle a native Brazilian experimented with embroidery and weaving techniques. Then she embarked on attempts to create materials from feathers and fabric fibers. It was a whole new path, full of discoveries. In her studio in the gray and gloomy office building, Yanayna was engaged in a completely unusual thing: she cut or torn each individual beard and hook from the pen shaft, and folded the shaft into the shape that she needed. Incredibly painstaking handwork. Then she attached each element of the pen with thread or glue to wool, silk or lace,or for jewelry - to transformable metal surfaces made of wire or copper rings. So unique filigree works of textile art appeared, so weightless as if they were about to begin to soar in the air ...
In his Parisian studio, Yanayna does everything on her own, from sorting feathers to finished designs. The design sketch begins with laying out the feathers on the black cardboard: such a background makes it possible to fully appreciate the “possibilities” of the pen. Yanayna’s latest hobby is 3D feather material.
