We present the winner of the competition for the best models of the spring-summer season 2015, sewn according to Burda patterns, Vera Gavrilova from the city of Balashikha, Moscow Region.

Vera has been sewing since the age of 12, and she can be considered a tailor with the experience: “As far as I can remember, I always lived in an atmosphere of needlework. Sewing, knitting, embroidery Richelieu - my mother knew almost everything. Apparently, this passion was inherited. In early childhood, I drew dresses to paper dolls. As soon as I learned to hold the needle tightly in my hands, I began to sew for my beloved Barbie. And I remade the first thing for myself from my mother’s dress, though without much success ... "
Vera received a medical education and works as a clinical psychologist. It’s not easy to treat the souls of people - maybe that is why it is philosophical about difficulties. If the stitched thing failed, it is not upset and takes on another. In the same trial and error method, she found her own style. Vera often makes changes to the models from BURDA (in her archive all the magazines for the last 10 years), combines patterns among themselves, creating one from several. Salon of Italian fabrics La Bottega dei Tessuti is a partner of our competition, so Vera was welcomed here with special warmth. Director of the salon Natalia Lutonina presented the winner with a gift certificate for 5,000 rubles and introduced new products from leading manufacturers of textiles.

Everyone is welcome to the Burda Academy: both beginner tailors and those who already have sewing experience. It is never too late to learn, especially from experts in their field. At a meeting with academy teachers, Vera asked a lot of questions and admitted that she had long wanted to do modeling and designing clothes. Vera will now be able to take a free course.

Design seasons clean-up area

After a week full of joyful efforts, I want to relax. Vera and I went to the Seasons festival, where we met a lot of creative people - artists, decorators, musicians. Special attention was paid to designers of jewelry and cute little things for the home. And Vera made a wonderful postcard with her own hands, taking part in a master class by Crafty Magazine (Burda Publishing House).
