The armholes in tops, blouses and sleeveless dresses are most often treated with a trim trim, oblique trim or lining. But what is the best method for products from elastic knitwear?

If you have an overlock and a sewing machine, then you can easily cope with the task. But on a sewing machine, you can achieve the perfect result.

For processing open armholes, a narrow edging cut in a straight line is ideal. Elastic knitwear stretches in both directions, so there is no need to cut the trimmings along the oblique to process open sections.

Step 1

Draw the details of the hemings on the armholes directly on the knitted fabric.

Step 2

Fold the armholes along the wrong side inwards and press down.

Step 3

Pin the stitches to the cuts of the armholes, combine the open cuts of the stitches with the edges of the allowances.

Grind stitches at a distance of 1 cm.

Cut the seam allowances close to the stitches; cut them in the rounding sections.

Step 4

Turn off the seams on the wrong side and take them.

Step 5

Iron the armholes and stitch at a distance of 5 mm, thereby securing the grouts.
