Or the so-called breeches ... A pencil skirt, a tight-fitting dress and capri pants - all
these fashionable things do not suit you: they are too tight on the hips and only emphasize them.

It is extremely simple to change the situation - you just need to expand the pattern!
Sitting well!
Straight narrow skirt.
On paper patterns of the front and back panels, draw a line of the hips 20 cm below the waist line (upper dashed line), and then draw a line of hips at the most prominent points of the hips at the desired distance from the waist line (lower dashed line). Glue strips of paper under the lateral edges of the panels. Subtract the smaller from the larger measure and extend the lower dashed line by ¼ of the obtained difference (in
timeters). Draw a new line of the lateral edge of the panel through the new point of the hips, draw a line below the point parallel to the previous one (Fig. 1).
A-line skirt.
On paper patterns of the front and back panels, draw a line of the hips 20 cm below the waist line (upper dashed line), and then draw a line of hips at the most prominent points of the hips at the desired distance from the waist line (lower dashed line). Measure the pattern on the bottom dashed line.
If the pattern requires expansion, stick a strip of paper under the side edge. Subtract the length of the bottom dashed line from a larger measure and extend the bottom line by ¼ of the obtained difference (the pattern should be about 4 cm wider than the hips).
Re-draw the line of the lateral edge through the new point of the hips, draw a line below the point parallel to the previous one (Fig. 2).

Pants.
On paper patterns of the front and back halves,
weave the hips line 20 cm below the waist line (upper dashed line
), and then draw a line of the hips along the most prominent points of the hips at the desired distance from the waistline (lower dashed line). Glue a strip of paper under the side edge. From the intersection
draw a vertical dashed line parallel to the arrow of the shared thread along the lateral edge and the upper line of the hips. At the point of intersection of the vertical line with the lower dashed line, add ¼ the difference between the larger and smaller measures and again
draw a line of the lateral edge (Fig. 3).
It is important to know
For skirts and trousers, size is determined by the circumference of the hips (20 cm below the waist). Take an extra measure of the circumference of your hips through the most protruding points of the hips. Also measure the distance from the most protruding point of the thigh to the waist, after tying the rep ribbon on the waist - this measure will help to expand the pattern strictly in the right place!
Extra tip: for a dress, size is determined by the circumference of the chest, make changes to the bottom of the pattern.
